Roller Conveyors

Roller conveyors can be an essential part of AFS whole tire feed systems.  They are commonly used to provide zoned accumulation and tire separation refinement.  Through the years our roller conveyor designs have improved to overcome the demanding and harsh environment of cement plants.  One development has been the Belt Driven Live Roller (BDLR) Conveyor, which utilizes a serpentine belt drive system instead of a chain drive system.  This eliminates the need to lubricate the chains and sprockets.  This also allows for the roller conveyor to run at higher speeds and endure millions of starts and stops with minimum maintenance requirements.  It has become a standard for AFS whole tire feed systems.  In addition to the serpentine belt drive, several other improvements have been made to make AFS roller conveyors stand out as the best choice for whole tire feed systems in cement plants and other harsh duty applications.

BDLR Conveyor features:

  • Externally mounted sealed bearings
  • Serpentine belt drive
  • 50 mm to 150 mm diameter roller sizes available
  • Special traction rollers for running up inclines
  • MSHA / OSHA guards
  • Wide choice of motors

Common uses:

  • Zoned accumulation
  • Inspection and rejection systems
  • Tire centering
  • Conveyor turns
  • Flow splitting to additional points of use
  • Weigh feeders
  • Box and pallet handling
