Whole Tire Fuel Feed System

Brookfield Plant (Lafarge) – Nova Scotia, Canada (2018) – AFS Technology provided a fully-automated mid-kiln tire fuel feed system for the Lafarge Canada cement plant in Brookfield, Nova Scotia.

The system is designed to feed whole tires to an AFS mid-kiln valve mounted on Kiln-2. The system feeds a maximum of 3 tires per kiln revolution. Based on 100 kiln revolutions per hour and 10 kg tires this provides for approximately 3 metric tph. It includes a fully-automated hook elevator, live bottom hopper, tire separation, tire inspection and rejection system.
